How to become your partner’s best friend?

1. Give space

Being for each other doesn’t mean that you follow your partner everywhere. There will be a time that they wish to spend time with their friends or colleagues. Respect their opinion and give them space to do so. While doing so, pamper yourself by taking a time off to satiate your likings too. Rather this ‘me-time’ will help you balance your relationship and make it healthier!

2. Stop nagging

Having healthy discussions is the key to a happy marriage. But constantly questioning your partner is a major turnoff. Where are you going? Who are you with? Why are you going outside? All these questions might become bothersome after a certain period. I am not saying that don’t question but it should be subtle. Nagging can lead to clashes. I would suggest introspecting that whether you will bear this nagging? With this, I am sure you will find a solution.

3. Let your love be unconditional

In friendship, you tend to dissolve all misunderstandings, accept each other’s flaws, and continue with the bond. The same goes for a marriage. You must understand that there will be a difference of opinion but you need to address them in a peculiar way. You never know you might explore a different side of your partner which might make your bond stronger than ever!

4. Stop being secretive

Transparency in relationships is the key to abundant happiness. The way we share our joys and sorrows with a friend, the same we can do with our partner. Communicate as much as you can because that will help you to know each other in a better way. Amidst this, don’t be talkative all the time. Try and be a good listener as well.

5. Support your partner no matter what

Every person yearns for mental, financial, and emotional support. Amidst this, a partner can play a pivotal role. Stand by your partner in their peril time. Try and understand their situation while coming up with a solution. It will not only infuse friendship but make your marriage stronger.

6. Trust your partner; always

It’s good to be possessive sometimes, but constant actions can lead to bitterness. Instead, trust your partner and be trustworthy yourself. If you are doubting your partner, make sure that you do not indulge in activities that will raise a few eyebrows. Don’t check their phones or follow them everywhere. This will infuse friendship and keep your marriage intact.

7. Spend quality time with each other

Who doesn’t like to hang out with friends and family? But don’t make it a constant affair because you must spend time with your partner. Try and get to know each other by discussing your likes and dislikes. Do things that make both of you happy then it could be a short drive or a movie date.

8. Acknowledge their strengths

In a relationship, it is very common to pinpoint faults. However, with faults, do acknowledge their good qualities. This will give them a morale boost and they will also start appreciating the goodness within themselves and others.

9. Have fun

Many marriages fade because partners stop having fun. Thus, to ignite the passion, start having fun by laughing together, and striking communication with each other. Start doing fun things together like watching some stupid web series or baking a cake. The more you spend time with each other, the stronger your bond will grow.

10. Stop backbiting

It is unfair to ruin the reputation of your partner. And to curtail that, you need to stop backbiting. If you have a problem, speak directly with your partner. Constant backbiting creates an affirmation that your partner isn’t a good match. Instead of destroying each other’s image, isn’t it better to just sit and discuss?

So, these are some of the tips that I follow for my happy married life. But before I wind up, I would like to highlight ‘best friend become life partner quotes’ for that extra dosage of motivation.
