Why Aai Kuthe Kay Karte is Better Than Other Serials?

aai kuthe kay karte

There was a time when I was an avid viewer of daily soaps. And why not? In those times, serials were meaningful. They were not sloppy and would end in a given period without stretching too long. Then the era of saas-bahu started, decade-long soap operas took over, and television lost meaning. Amidst this, Marathi serials were better, but not very long as they started applying the same funda and rona-dhona. Some series have the worst scenarios ever.

But after a very long time, there’s one serial that touched my heart, and it is none other than Aai Kuthe Kay Karte.

It’s been two years since I started watching this serial, and now it is a daily ritual. In these two years, this serial has earned immense success. However, every show has its own set of pros and cons. Therefore, with this blog, I am going to list them both. Let’s see what they are!

Why do I enjoy watching Aai Kuthe Kay Karte?

👍 Outstanding acting of entire Aai Kuthe Kay Karte cast

The entire Aai Kuthe Kay Karate cast is the perfect mixture of actors. Some new, some old, but they put their heart and soul into it. The lead of the Aai Kuthe Kay Karte – Arundhati portrayed by Madhurani Gokhale Prabhulkar is simply outstanding. She is multifaceted in every sense as she sings soulfully, and her acting is stupendous. Next in line is Milind Gawli, who plays Aniruddha, Rupali Bhosale as Sanjana, Kishore Mahabole as Appa, and the entire cast members.

👍 Reality check through serial

One of the reasons for loving this serial is highlighting some problems of the society like cheating, extra-marital affair, suppression of women, divorcee-marriage, etc. But one Aai Kuthe Kay Karate episode truly touched my heart, and it was on childless marriage.

I am in that situation, and I know how society torments you for being child-free, followed by family expectations, mental stress, physical weariness, and so much more. But the way makers highlighted the issue was simply outstanding. And I give full points to Aai Kuthe Kay Karte writer Mugdha Godbole. Not just this, but they have aesthetically shed light on menopause, mental health, suicide, etc.

One of the best Aai Kuthe Kay Karate episode

👍 Women empowerment

Maybe not extensively, but Aai Kuthe Kay Karate beautifully exhibits women empowerment. After the whole extra-martial fiasco, the way Arundhati changed her persona is worth witnessing. Though Sanjana steps into the shoes of an antagonist yet her exhibition as a working woman is exponential. At the same, she has highlighted the challenges of working women too!

Times when Aai Kuthe Kay Karte disappoints

👎 Unrealistic scenarios

Arundhati’s demeanor at times highlights that a girl should wake up in the morning, take care of her family’s needs, must know cooking, household chores, etc. Knowing these things makes her an ideal bahu. However, some girls do not know any of these, yet they have the best married life. I think these parameters are wrong to judge someone.

👎 Stupidity of the characters

On one side, Arundhati is talking about women’s empowerment and respecting them, but clearly, she ignores the behavior of Yash (Abhishek Deshmukh) towards Gauri (Gauri Kulkarni). Yash blames Gauri on several occasions for bringing Sanjana into their lives, but no one bothers to correct him. And Gauri is a so-called NRI and an independent woman, then how come she bears this blame game all the time?

The stupidity continues with Abhishek’s character portrayed by Niranjan Kulkarni. He is a doctor, and all his decisions are lame. I know not all individual is perfect but not so mindless to take some random decision. The character himself acknowledges on multiple occasions his folly, but he continues to do so!

Most importantly, all the kids are continuously dependent on their mother. Instead of helping her out, they are always committing indiscreet mistakes.

👎 Problems stretched too far

Teenage girls tend to commit mistakes, and I agree they might perpetuate some grave ones. But we all have been there, isn’t it? Above all, time is the best teacher, and it heals us all. However, the makers of Aai Kuthe Kay Karate stretched Isha’s (Apurva Gore) problems too long. The constant blame game on Arundhati for children’s deeds were the episodes infused with boredom. Such hiccups kill the mood and interest.

Rating and where to watch Aai Kuthe Kay Karate episode

If you have Disney + Hotstar subscription, then you can watch this serial without commercial break on the platform. Else, it airs on Star Pravah at 7:30 pm.

My rating for this serial is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I deducted one star because of the unnecessary loopholes that are avoidable. I might be wrong but as a viewer, I feel so!

On a parting note

So, these were my views on the serial. Aai Kuthe Kay Karte and Anupama- the Hindi serial is based on the same lines, yet I am a die-hard fan of Aai Kuthe Kay Karte. I found Anupama too melodramatic. What do you think about it? If you agree with my review or have something else to share, do comment below!
